"Tenacious Tree" 7"x 5"watercolor on paper, c. 2013 |
In July, we were invited to go hiking in a wonderful little bit of wilderness near Dresden called the "Saechsische Schweiz" by the locals, or the "Switzerland of Saxony" for those of us whose tongue gets hopelessly twisted around so many "sches"!
Three views of the tree at the "robber's roost" in the Saechsische Schweiz, Germany. |
I have been having a really hard time in this "limbo land" between Jeff graduating and finding our next direction. My focus has been mostly on my fear of not having enough money and this doesn't make for a very inspiring future picture. I am truly searching for a better angle.
So far, my best "angle" is to remember that we have been through many tight times before and things eventually got better. I am perched on that resting spot today. I felt good enough to up-date the blog, so that is a sign of a better view already.

I love your new painting. It's beautiful and I'm glad you chose watercolors over oils for this one. I've always been drawn to the plants that grow in the cracks, thriving where one wouldn't even expect them to survive.
As for your limbo land, hang in there like the little tree. Remember that old story about the two wolves struggling inside of each person. The one that wins in the one that you feed. If you feed your fear, it will eat up your dreams.
Thanks so much Camille, that fear wolf is such a noisy canine, but I will do my best!
I love it. As well as how you feel it relates to life. I agree. Love you
